Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema will start against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Benzema has been out injured since Real Madrid’s 3-0 victory over Celtic on matchday one and only returned to action in the 1-1 draw against Osasuna on Sunday.

Ancelotti said: “[Karim Benzema] is very good. He will start tomorrow. His physical condition is very good.

“He hasn’t scored in the last few games because he hasn’t played. I don’t see anything strange in Karim.

“He has trained very well. Karim is like he always is. We’ll see whether he is back to being his usual self, a spectacular player.”
