Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal has hit back at Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez following claims Real Madrid were not deserved winners of the Champions League last season.

Carvajal said: “Xavi’s comments about the Champions League not always being fair? It makes me laugh.

“This debate about whether it’s fair or not exists only when [Real] Madrid wins the Champions League. When other teams win it, it is always fair and there is meritocracy for these people.”

Maybe Barcelona should first try winning the Champions League 14 times like Real Madrid.
