Real Madrid star Federico Valverde has reacted after Luis Suarez compared him to Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.

The Uruguayan midfielder has risen to become one of the most highly-rated midfielders in Europe.

This season, Valverde has improved his goalscoring output as he has netted four goals in ten games this season, having only previously scored six in 145 appearances.

Valverde told Infobae: “It’s spectacular when you are compared to such a player, to a star, a world idol, not just a Liverpool one. It’s amazing.

“I see characteristics of him, obviously, I’m not going to say no, but one always looks out for oneself.”
