Shakhtar Donetsk boss Igor Jovicevic has admitted Real Madrid deserved the victory over his Shakhtar Donetsk team on Wednesday night.

Real Madrid beat Shakhtar Donetsk 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium on Wednesday night through goals from Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior.

Jovicevic told reporters after the game: “What we admit is that Madrid deserved to win, they might have scored more but we played with bravery and took risks and, in the end, not only lost by a single goal but we might have grabbed the 2-2.

“We need to believe that if we can play like this against the best then we can do even better against teams of a lesser level.”
