Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed Karim Benzema has already confirmed to Real Madrid that his intention is to accept the club’s contract proposal.

Benzema’s current contract expires at the end of the current season but an extension is expected to keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium for another season.

Romano tweeted: “More on Benzema’s new deal. Karim has already confirmed to Real Madrid his intention to accept the proposal and continue there until June 2024, so it’s just a matter of time.

“Florentino Pérez, Carlo Ancelotti and the whole board are together on this decision.”
