Real Madrid are reportedly targeting a move for Chelsea full-back Reece James as the club looks to assemble a team of young leaders, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.

Despite only signing a new Chelsea contract worth around £250,000-a-week only a month ago which expires in 2028, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is convinced the club can sign James from Chelsea.

Real Madrid see James as a long-term successor to current right-back Dani Carvajal and have already started arrangements to sign the Premier League right-back.

Meanwhile, the agent of Napoli forward Hirving Lozano has revealed the Mexican international would love to join Real Madrid.

“Lozano has never hidden that he loves to move to Barcelona or Real Madrid,” said Monfricula, Lozano’s agent, quoted by Gonfiaralete.
