Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti and his coaching staff have identified the ideal replacement for 34 year old Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.

According to Jorge Picon of Relevo, Ancelotti and his coaching staff are totally convinced Rodrygo can play as a striker and believe he is the ideal Benzema replacement.

Rodrygo has had a brilliant start to the season, scoring 3 goals in 6 La Liga games and once in 3 Champions League games.

Meanwhile, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed Benzema has already confirmed to Real Madrid that his intention is to accept the club’s contract proposal.

Benzema’s current contract expires at the end of the current season but an extension is expected to keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium for another season.

Romano tweeted: “More on Benzema’s new deal. Karim has already confirmed to Real Madrid his intention to accept the proposal and continue there until June 2024, so it’s just a matter of time.

“Florentino Pérez, Carlo Ancelotti and the whole board are together on this decision.”
