According to media outlet Todo Fichajes via Goal, Manchester United are strongly considering a move for Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio.

The 26 year-old Spaniard is nearing the end of his contract and has fallen out of favor at Madrid. He has failed to start a game for Real Madrid this season.

Manchester United will face competition from Spanish side Barcelona, who are also interested in signing the Real Madrid attacker as a free agent.

Manchester United can sign a pre-contract with Asensio in January as he will have six months left on his Real Madrid contract.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United star and Brazil international Bruno Guimaraes has hailed Real Madrid as the best club in the world but insists he is happy in the Premier League with Newcastle United.

Guimaraes said: “I never doubted the project, I believe in it. I always wanted to play in the Premier League and I am now just enjoying that.

“The ground love me and I love them. I want to keep going. I want to be a legend here.

“Real Madrid is the best team in the world. It is nice. But it is just a conversation, it is nothing.”
