According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports, Real Madrid want Manchester City striker Erling Haaland to replace Karim Benzema.

Benzema’s Real Madrid contract expires at the end of the current season and Real Madrid are set to extend it until 2024 when Haaland’s release clause can be activated.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez sees Haaland, who has scored 20 goals in just 13 games for Manchester City, as the main target to replace Benzema.

Meanwhile, Manchester City goal machine Erling Haaland earns a mammoth £865,000-a-week, according to Daily Mail.

According to the report, the 22-year-old gets a basic salary which is line with the other higher earners at the Etihad Stadium.

However, a series of substantial, almost-guaranteed bonuses see his weekly wage surge to the £865,000 mark.
