Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has admitted Shakhtar Donetsk made it difficult for Real Madrid by cutting out the passes between the lines which forced Real Madrid to go wide.
Real Madrid were able to secure a 1-1 draw against Shakhtar Donetsk thanks a stoppage time goal from Antonio Rudiger.
Ancelotti said: “Shakhtar changed their playing system to introduce players who were able to cut out our passes between the lines so we had to play ‘outside’ (wide).
“But that tactic didn’t work out for us and with them scoring when they did, it made it difficult for us.”
