Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger scored a stoppage time equaliser as Real Madrid secured a 1-1 draw at Shakhtar Donetsk but the goal came at a cost.
Rudiger was left covered in blood after netting Real Madrid’s late equaliser against Shakhtar Donetsk after colliding with the rival goalkeeper in the Champions League.
The German international got his head on Toni Kroos’ long pass into the box to flick it past the onrushing Anatoliy Trubin with the ball bouncing over the line via the post.
Having initially got back to his feet, Rudiger received medical attention before being walked off the pitch at the Polish Army Stadium as blood dripped from his head.
According to journalist Jose Luis Sanchez, Rudiger will need 20 stitches following his injury against Shakhtar Donetsk.
