Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti gave his verdict on Real Madrid’s 3-1 victory over Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium on Sunday.

Ancelotti said: “The first half was the key. We were the better team and were strong and clinical. We managed to play out from the back well because they were pressing high up the pitch.

“We played with confidence, playing out from the back and we were strong up front. Everybody was engaged and that was key to winning the game.

“We’ve taken all three points from a strong team in this competition who are doing well this season.

“Barcelona are a good side with plenty of strengths. It’s a long season and there’s a lot of games still to play. We’re happy with our performance.”
