Karim Benzema was the highest goalscorer in the La Liga (27 goals) and Champions League (15 goals) last season.

This season, Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski is the top goalscorer with 9 goals in the La Liga while Benzema has 4 goals.

Benzema has admitted he’s not yet up to speed this season after arriving late for pre-season and also suffering an injury this season.

Benzema said: “I arrived at pre-season late, after a month-long injury. I lost time and I need time to get up to speed.

“But I have confidence and conviction and I know that little by little I’m going to do as well as I did last year.”
