Former Real Madrid manager Manuel Pellegrini has praised the qualities of Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema and believes the 34 year old deservedly won the Ballon d’Or.

Pellegrini said as quoted by Marca: “It is undeniable that Karim Benzema deserves the award. He is a complete player, not only a scorer, but he is a creator as well.

“I was lucky to arrive at Real Madrid in the same year as he did. Staying at Real Madrid for ten years as a key player is not easy.”
