The Spanish Federation has apologised to Real Madrid for a goal disallowed in victory over Elche, according to Diario AS via Tribal Football.

The Spanish Federation, RFEF, reportedly that they made a mistake in chalking off David Alaba’s first half effort against Elche, as they had ruled Karim Benzema offside in the build-up at the time.

The RFEF reportedly sent a letter outlining their error, and promised to work to remove similar mistakes from their procedures in future.

Thankfully, the error in disallowing Alaba’s goal didn’t influence the eventual result of the game, with Los Blancos running out 3-0 winners, with goals from Federico Valverde, Benzema and Marco Asensio.
