Real Madrid star Marco Asensio is set to receive a new contract offer from the club, according to Marca’s José Félix Díaz.

The current contract of the 26 year old expires at the end of the season and it was expected he will leave the club at the end of the season after failing to reach an agreement with the club over a new contract.

Asensio has barely played this season but has shown his quality in the 217 minutes of football he has been given this season, scoring twice and also assisting twice.

His impressive performances has now forced a U-turn from Real Madrid with the club now willing to extend the contract of the 26 year old.

Asensio has somehow managed to turn his situation around at the club. His desire was always to remain at Real Madrid.
