Real Madrid smashed Celtic 5-1 in our final Champions League group game to finish Group F as the leaders.
Real Madrid raced into an early 2-0 lead, with Luka Modric and Rodrygo converting from the spot to put Madrid ahead in the first-half.
Celtic were awarded their own penalty kick in the 35th minute, which was saved by Thibaut Courtois.
Real Madrid would go on to win the game 5-1, with Marco Asensio, Vinicius Junior and Federico Valverde also in on the goals.
Speaking after the game, Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart admitted the first half was even and Madrid were lucky to get two soft penalties.
Joe Hart said: “It’s never nice to concede two soft penalties early on. The first half was even other than that. Courtois had a good game. We put our best foot forward and tried to attack.
“They’re ruthless. I’ve not had much to do other than fish the ball out of the net five times. We want to be back here, and turn the maybes into going our way. We are going to spend every single day trying to get back here again.”
