After many years of top performances, Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema was eventually rewarded with the Ballon d’Or award.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Benzema were teammates at Real Madrid for many years, and Benzema has revealed that the Portugal star is yet to congratulate him following his Ballon d’Or success.

When asked if Ronaldo had congratulated him following his Ballon d’Or success, Benzema said: “No, not yet.”

Benzema is now a fulfilled man after he has won the Ballon d’Or, very late in his career.

“I didn’t want to stop playing until I won the Ballon d’Or,” Benzema told Telefoot.

“I always believed in myself, I knew that at some point, with my qualities and my ambitions, I could win it.

“That’s why, for the last four years, I’ve been pushing and pushing to get this trophy.”
