Shakhtar Donetsk star, Mykhaylo Mudryk has suggested he has an interest in playing for Arsenal than warm the Real Madrid bench.
Mudryk has been in good form for the Ukrainian side this season, both domestically and in Europe, and has gathered eight goals and eight assists across all competitions. His fine form is what has drawn interest from some of the top clubs in Europe.
Back in August, Shakhtar’s sporting director claimed the club rejected a €30 million bid from Everton for Mudryk, but the 21-year-old is attracting more interest.
And with rumours surrounding his future continuing to swirl, Mudryk has spoken up on what his next move could look like, suggesting he would like to play for Arsenal.
“From a purely theoretical/ fantasy perspective if there was the option of being a bench player for Real Madrid or a starter for Arsenal, I’d probably choose Arsenal,” Mudryk told Vlada Sedan.
“It’s a tough question and involves a lot of factors in my answer. I would first want to know from the head coach that even if I wasn’t a guaranteed starter, that I’d receive a chance.
“Essentially I need to hear directly from the manager what he envisages my role to be in his side.”
