It’s indeed a big blow for Karim Benzema and France, as the top striker is set to miss out on the World Cup.

Benzema has been ruled out of the World Cup, after suffering an injury during training on Saturday evening.

Examinations confirmed a tear in the player’s left thigh, and that means the 34-year-old may not continue in the World Cup which kicks off on Sunday.

Didier Deschamps has until Monday evening to call up a replacement.
