Real Madrid star Marco Asensio is in the final year of his contract with the Los Blancos, and is yet to agree a new deal with the club.
Asensio is currently at the World Cup with Spain, and scored in Spain’s 7-0 mauling of Costa Rica.
Barcelona are said to be monitoring Asensio’s contract situation, and Barcelona midfielder Pedri has now urged Asensio to join Barca.
Although the player has expressed his desire to sign a new deal with Real Madrid, he is so far yet to agree to a new deal.
In the words of Pedri ‘all good players have to be at Barcelona’.
Pedri told Cope: “It remains to be seen what happens to Marco Asensio’s contract, but I think all good players have to be at Barcelona.
“However, I’m not trying to convince anyone here.”
The 26-year-old has scored 3 goals and provided 3 assists in 15 matches for Real Madrid this season, and is attracting interest from clubs in the Premier League as well.
