Real Madrid star Eden Hazard has now announced his decision to quit the international stage, after a shambolic display at the World Cup.
Belgium were sent packing from the World Cup in the group stage, in what was a very poor display from the Red Devils.
Hazard skippered the team to the World Cup, but their performance was far from impressive.
Hazard who started his journey with Belgium as a 17-year-old back in 2008, spent 14 years with the Belgium national team. He was part of the team that finished third at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Hazard, 31, featured 126 times for Belgium, scoring 33 goals.
Writing on Instagram, Hazard announced his decision as he said: “A page turns today… Thank you for your love. Thank you for your unparalleled support. Thank you for all this happiness shared since 2008.
“I have decided to put an end to my international career. The succession is ready. I will miss you.”
The Belgium Twitter account added: “All the best, captain. #MerciEden.”
