Brazil have exited the World Cup, after losing to Croatia on penalties in the quarter-final clash on Friday.

Real Madrid young star Rodrygo failed to score the first kick, as Brazil crashed out after losing on penalties.

Luka Modric had to console a disheartened Rodrygo after the shootout, as the 21-year-old Brazilian couldn’t control his emotions.

Modric told him after the game: “Vamos, this will make you stronger. Everyone makes mistakes, you will get stronger. I love you, I love you. Animo.”

Speaking late at a press conference, Modric added: “I was his age when I missed a crucial penalty in the 2008 Euro. We have to praise him for having the courage and determination to take the first penalty, that will make him stronger.”
