Former Real Madrid defender Pepe, wasn’t happy with the officiating on display, as Portugal have crashed out of the World Cup.

Portugal and Cristiano Ronaldo were sent packing from the World Cup, as the Portuguese side were beaten 1-0 by Morocco in the quarter-final clash.

Pepe believes it was wrong for the Argentine referee to have officiated the match between Portugal and Morocco.

Speaking after their shock defeat to Morocco, Pepe said: “It’s inadmissible that an Argentine referee was in charge today after what happened yesterday, with Messi complaining.

“After what I saw today, they can give the title to Argentina now.

“He only gave eight minutes of time off.. Eight minutes? It’s frustrating. We had the right qualities to win the World Cup but couldn’t make it.”
