According to reports, Real Madrid have turned down the chance to sign Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.

The 32-year-old has been a key player for Pep Guardiola’s side over the years, but is now set to leave City at the end of the season.

Despite being a key player for Man City, Gundogan is yet to agree a new contract with the club, and it seems he may be permitted to leave for free.

The 32-year-old has made 20 appearances in all competitions so far this season, contributing with two goals and two assists.

Gundogan is said to be attracting massive interest from other sides including Barcelona who are considering a January move for the German international, while Galatasaray are also said to be among his admirers

Real Madrid would rather push for a young midfielder at the end of the season, knowing that Toni Kroos and Luka Modric are already in their 30s.
