Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema is still a registered member of the French national team for the World Cup, even though he’s yet to kick a ball in the tournament.

Benzema was ruled out of the World because of an injury, but the 35-year-old is fit again and is raring to go, with the season set to resume soon.

France boss Didier Deschamps was asked this question in his press conference ahead of the World Cup final with Argentina.

Deschamps closed his eyes and thought to himself before letting out a long sigh as he listened to the translated question, before responding.

In response, Deschamps chose to avoid the question, as he said: “I’d prefer not to answer this question.”
