Real Madrid veteran Luka Modric did well at the World Cup, as Croatia reached the semi-final of the World Cup only to lose to Argentina.
Modric skippered Croatia to the third place final, and had a magnificent tournament.
Luka Modric was expected to travel to his hometown of Zadar to celebrate winning the bronze medal with Croatia at the World Cup. However, Croatian outlet Tportal has claimed that the midfielder cancelled the trip to return to Madrid.
Modric was scheduled to return to training on December 28, but decided against staying long away from the team.
Modric wants to be prepared for Real Madrid’s first match after the break which will be against Real Valladolid on December 31.
The likes of Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga who reached the final, will enjoy a short break, are the only Madrid players yet to resume training. The French duo are expected to have 10 days break before returning to the club.
