Brighton winger Adam Lallana and former Liverpool teammate, Jordan Henderson believe that Luka Modric is the best midfielder they have come up against.

The Real Madrid star recently helped Croatia to a third place finish at the FIFA World Cup, after beating Morocco 2-1 last weekend. Four years ago, he also helped them to second place.

Despite being 37, Modric continues to be one of the key players for both club and country, and it’s no wonder why Lallana and Henderson regard him as the best.

“I was speaking to Jordan Henderson and we both agreed that, pound for pound, he is the best midfielder we have ever played against,” Lallana said.

“There is no midfielder with a greater football IQ than Luka Modric.”
