Sevilla have confirmed the departure of Isco from their club, just four months after he joined Sevilla on a free transfer.

A club statement on Sevilla’s official website reads: “Sevilla FC and the footballer Isco Alarcón have agreed to terminate the contract that had united both parties since the player joined last summer after finishing his spell at Real Madrid. The club wants to wish Isco all the luck in the world in his new professional challenges.”

Isco had started fine at Sevilla, but it seems a number of cumulative problems affected him in Seville.

It is believed that Sevilla sporting director Monchi was against the idea of signing Isco, but Julen Lopetegui, pushed for the transfer at the time.

Following Lopetegui’s sack, Isco was left open to be marginalised.

New boss Jorge Sampaoli, didn’t rate the former Madrid star as well, who contributed one goal and three assists in his 19 appearances for Sevilla.

Isco played for Real Madrid between 2013 and 2022. He played 353 games, scored 53 goals and won 19 trophies.
