Real Madrid defeated Real Valladolid 2-0 away at the Estadio Jose Zorrilla on Friday night.

It wasn’t an easy game for Ancelotti’s side, and it had to take two late goals from Karim Benzema to win the tie – the first goal being an 83rd minute penalty.

The game was heading for a draw until the two late goals, and speaking after the game, Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti hailed the performance of Eduardo Camavinga who added intensity after coming on as a substitute in the 69th minute.

Ancelotti said: “This is exactly what he’s shown since arriving here, that he can make more of a difference coming off the bench.

“He is incredibly energetic. Eduardo is very young, he has to improve and learn more about how positioning, but he is still very important to us.”

Up next for Real Madrid is the cup tie against fourth-tier team Cacereno.
