Eden Hazard got a rare start for Real Madrid, as he featured in the Copa del Rey clash against Cacereno.
It was a difficult game for Carlo Ancelotti’s men, with Rodrygo scoring the only goal of the game.
Cacereno’s Carmelo Mereciano has taken a dig at Hazard, saying that he ‘didn’t care’ about the match. According to Carmelo, Hazard had a poor game and he wasn’t noticed.
Hazard completed the game without having a shot and also didn’t attempt or complete any dribbles.
Speaking to Diario AS, he said: “Hazard? It was like he didn’t care about the game. He didn’t want to take the ball, he didn’t run. He was totally unnoticed.”
Carlo Ancelotti however, chose not to be critical of Hazard when speaking after the game.
He said: “I was impressed with Hazard’s performance. It’s tough to assess how the players did today because it was impossible to play.
“It was a real long-ball game and the smaller players like Hazard and Rodrygo struggled. He delivered during the time he was on the pitch and did what was asked of him.”
