Real Madrid woeful in Super Cup final

It was a poor display by Real Madrid in the final of the Supercopa de Espana against Barcelona.

The Los Blancos were totally outplayed and dominated by Barcelona especially in the first-half, as Carlo Ancelotti’s men couldn’t get a shot on target all through the first-half.

Barcelona dominated the midfield in the first-half, as they ensured that Karim Benzema was starved of possession.

Shortly after the half-hour mark, Gavi opened the scoring for Barcelona.

12 minutes after, Gavi turned provider for Robert Lewandowski, who simply finished off the effort for his 20th goal of the season.

Carlo Ancelotti tried to tweak things in the second-half as he subbed off Eduardo Camavinga at half-time, and brought in Rodrygo.

With the scores 2-0 at half-time, Pedri got to the end of a Gavi killer pass to end Real Madrid’s hopes of a comeback in the 69th minute.

Karim Benzema scored a stoppage time goal to finish the game at 3-1.

Real Madrid’s next game is away to Villarreal on the 19th.
