Former Real Madrid midfielder Alvaro Benito has said that Real Madrid academy isn’t producing as many talents as they should

Bonito has questioned the talent coming through La Fabrica, compared to the La Masia that’s producing massive talents for Barcelona.

After watching Real Madrid lose to Barcelona in the Supercopa de Espana final, Benito has slammed the club’s academy, and doesn’t think the club has a young player in the mould of Barcelona’s 18-year-old midfielder, Gavi.

He told Cadena SER: “At the moment, I don’t see any player in the Real Madrid youth academy with the potential to be a Gavi.

“At best, there are good complements like Arribas.

“But I don’t think the theme of the academy is black or white.”
