Real Madrid sold Casemiro to Manchester United last summer for €70.65m.
The Brazilian was a key player for Carlo Ancelotti, but the Los Blancos were rather keen to cash out on the 30-year-old midfield star, having spent €100m to sign Tchouameni.
For Casemiro, he was open to the move to Old Trafford, as he’d have a new experience in the Premier League.
According to Diario AS, Carlo Ancelotti strongly opposed Real Madrid in their plan to sell Casemiro because he intended to play Aurelien Tchouameni together with the Brazilian in his midfield.
While Ancelotti wanted to keep the Brazilian, the Real Madrid board thought otherwise due to his age.
Indeed, Real Madrid have missed Casemiro this season, while the Brazilian has massively improved Manchester United.
