Real Madrid star frustrated at Carlo Ancelotti for benching him

According to reports, Real Madrid second choice goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, is frustrated at club boss Carlo Ancelotti.

Lunin started in the previous cup game against Cacereno and was expecting to start against Villarreal in the Copa del Rey clash on Thursday.

Carlo Ancelotti has however revealed that he’d stick with first choice goalie for this crucial tie.

According to Relevo, Lunin is “frustrated” by the coach’s decision, and is saddened that Ancelotti didn’t tell him in person.

Lunin also believes that he is in good form and is good enough to face Villarreal, and also deserves a place in the starting team for this game.

Carlo Ancelotti on his part, wants to play a very strong team against Villarreal, as the club has been in poor form of late. The same happened last season when Courtois was chosen for the quarter-final against Athletic Bilbao.

Lunin’s contract will expire in 2024, and the Ukrainian is said to be contemplating his future.

This term so far, Andriy has played 7 games for Madrid, conceding 4 goals and keeping 3 clean sheets.
