Real Madrid followed up a 3-2 comeback victory over Villarreal in the Copa del Rey, with another difficult win over Athletic Bilbao away from home.
Bilbao were indeed difficult opponents at the Estadio San Mames, but a first-half Karim Benzema strike and a late effort from Toni Kroos sealed the three points for the Los Blancos.
Speaking after the game, Carlo Ancelotti reserved massive praise for Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.
The defensive midfielder was indeed a beast at the back, and finished the game with multiple defensive contributions, as well as with 5 drawn fouls and a high passing success percentage.
Carlo Ancelotti was indeed proud of the performance of the 20-year-old.
He said: “I’d like to single out Eduardo Camavinga. His performance was spectacular.”
