There have been a lot said about Karim Benzema’s situation at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Benzema was due to feature in the World with France, but later suffered a hamstring injury and was then left out of the squad.

Reports claim that Didier Deschamps didn’t give Benzema an opportunity to return even when he was fit, and the French players didn’t want him in the squad.

After the World Cup, Benzema unfollowed many of his France teammates on social media, to add to the controversy.

France and AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud, has rubbished some of those reports involving Benzema and his national teammates.

Giroud explained that he wrote a sincere and spontaneous message to Benzema as soon as he left France’s training camp.

“I told him we were disappointed. I was disappointed to see him go.” Giroud had said.

Giroud then slammed those “who are trying to search for disputes in a team where there were none.”
