Real Madrid have been dealt a real injury blow, ahead of upcoming games in the La Liga, Club World Cup and Champions League.

The Spanish champions are set to face Liverpool later this month, with the first leg of the encounter scheduled at Anfield on February 21, while the return leg at the Santiago Bernabeu takes place on March 15.

According to Spanish outlet AS, Mendy is suffering from a “muscle injury”, and is expected to be out until April. Mendy picked up the injury during Madrid’s Copa del Rey clash against rivals, Atletico Madrid last week.

Lucas Vazquez is also injured for Madrid, and is expected to be out for a while.
