Real Madrid defeated Valencia 2-0 to maintain their hot pursuit of Barcelona.

Goals from Marco Asensio and Vinicius Junior gave Real Madrid an assured victory.

Real Madrid lost two players to injury during the game, with Eder Militao and Karim Benzema getting subbed off after injury.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti spoke about the injured duo after the game.

“It looks like Militão won’t be able to play on Sunday,” Carlo Ancelotti said after the game.

“Benzema’s [case] seems lighter, [we subbed him] as a precaution. That’s what happens when you play every three days,” the boss added.

Benzema may feature on Sunday pending the results of tests later tomorrow.
