Karim Benzema is still indispensable in this Real Madrid team.

Despite being age 35, the Frenchman still produces the goods for his club.

Benzema doesn’t only score goals, he also assists. Last season, he registered 15 assists – a figure he bettered in his 2012/13 campaign, when playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, where he notched 21 assists in all competitions.

For Benzema, his play isn’t only about scoring goals, but assisting as well.

The Frenchman believes he’s a well rounded striker who doesn’t only rely on goals.

He said: “The more you think about the game and you respect football, the more goals you’ll score, it’s that simple.

“If you only think about scoring, if you come up against two good defenders it’s over. Since you can’t play football – you can’t play one-touch, you can’t move, all you have is scoring.”

Benzema also spoke highly of legends Thierry Henry and Ronaldo Nazario.

He said: “Thierry Henry is a legend! Even though I grew up with Ronaldo [Nazário], for me, Thierry Henry comes after him.”
