Carlo Ancelotti has often made bold decisions this season, and he has given good playing minutes to many of his players.

The Italian again rotated his team to face Elche, and the boys responded with a 4-0 victory.

Speaking after the game, Ancelotti insisted that he trusts all his players.

He said: “Every game and instants within them are good to build your confidence.

“Each moment can affect the atmosphere slightly. When you’re 3-0 up you relax a bit and that can cause problems, I don’t want to see it. We’re feeling better and it’s important to keep up this good run.”

“Our players are made for it, they have no issues with playing top-level games. I have faith in all of them and I pick the best possible line-up taking into account injuries, fatigue…”

Ancelotti also revealed that he’s trying to build the squad’s physical shape.

He stated: “We’re taking advantage of all these games to improve each player’s fitness.

“It’s obvious the team is getting better and playing matches helps you to fine-tune their condition. There’s no other way to do it.”

On why he chose to play Eduardo Camavinga in central midfield ahead of Aurelien Tchouameni, he said: “I rested guys who played in the final and I wanted to bring fresh legs into the middle of the park. Nothing special.

“Camavinga is in better shape because Tchouameni is just on his way back. Tchouameni will play in Pamplona.”
