Real Madrid star, Rodrygo has revealed that he and his teammates are ready to face Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League round-of-16. 

Liverpool will host the Spanish giants at Anfield for the first leg of the fixture next Tuesday, before they travel to Madrid for the return leg in two weeks.

It’s the first time the Reds will take on Madrid, following last year’s defeat at the final of the competition in Paris. The tie ended 1-0 in favour of the Spanish side, with Vinicius Jr scoring the goal.

Speaking ahead of their upcoming match at Anfield, Rodrygo admitted it will not be easy to play last season’s Premier League first-runners up.

“The game there is going to be very difficult, we already know this,” Rodrygo told Goal.

“Playing against Liverpool is always difficult whether with or without fans, but at Anfield even more. We are ready.”

On the role he could play against Liverpool, Rodrygo, who can play in other positions added: “In the 4-2-3-1, behind Karim, it’s the position I like the most and everyone knows this. I always talk to the coach.

“Of course, I can play in all positions, but that’s where I feel most comfortable when it comes to playing. I played a very good game against Elche there.”
