Jurgen Klopp has warned his players they cannot make the mistake of thinking that their upcoming match with Real Madrid is a walk-over.
The Reds will on Tuesday host the reigning world and European champions in the UEFA Champions League round-of-16 at Anfield.
Klopp has warned his players to have respect for Madrid, as the two sides meet again, after last season’s Champions League final.
Speaking to the reporters on Monday, Jurgen Klopp said: “It’s Real Madrid. We can’t play this game without respect. They are absolutely world class. We need to play two super games to go through.
“Madrid don’t need to play special and they still have a chance. It’s a well set-up team and that’s why it’s so difficult. But that doesn’t mean it’s impossible. I don’t think you can make this team panic.
“Real are always super, super competitive and super difficult to beat. But it makes absolute sense to try it anyway. I’m really happy we can play this game now rather than a few weeks ago.”
