Despite winning 5-2 against Liverpool on Tuesday, Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, is adamant it isn’t over yet for his side.
Madrid made a huge comeback to beat Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday night, after initially going 2-0 down to goals from Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah.
Courtois has looked back at last season’s clash against Chelsea, which saw the Blues bounce back to lead 3-0 at the Santiago Bernabéu, before Madrid levelled back the aggregate scores and won in extra time.
“No it is not,” the Belgium international replied when asked if the tie was over. “I think last year against Chelsea we thought the same and suddenly they were up 0-3 in the Bernabeu.
“You know this can happen and we have to be careful, especially with this new away goal rule. You can not relax. They have a lot of quality up front to score goals and we have to concentrate, but obviously it is better to be up than down.”
