Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr, has admitted he’s ‘very happy’, after helping the Spanish champions to a 5-2 Champions League round-of-16 win over Liverpool on Tuesday night.
Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah had handed Liverpool the lead inside 14 minutes, before the Brazilian scored a brace to level matters just before half-time. Eder Militao headed in Madrid’s third goal, while Karim Benzema also scored twice to make it 5-2.
Speaking after the clash, Vinicius, who is now in the habit of scoring against Liverpool, admitted he was very pleased with the victory.
The Brazilian said, “I’m very happy, there are players who they always give me peace of mind and even down 2-0 we didn’t get lost, continuing to play with a cool head.
“That’s why Real Madrid won so much, it makes even the difficult moments seem easy.
“Liverpool pressed us so much, the part it was made more difficult but the 90 minutes remain at home and they will be very long.”
