Liverpool are one of Europe’s power houses and have won the Champions League a stunning six times.
Real Madrid came from 2-0 down to beat Liverpool 5-2 at Anfield, and set a record in the process.
Real Madrid have now inflicted on Liverpool their heaviest home defeat in their European history in their round of 16 first leg on Tuesday evening.
Asked if it was his most spectacular away win in Europe as Real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti said: “Yes, winning here is never easy of course.
“In such a decisive manner and uncomplicated way in the second half, we are very, very happy with our performance.”
Ancelotti has however refused to get carried away with the victory.
“We have taken advantage after 90 minutes,” said the Real boss.
“We now have to manage and control what happened in the second leg in Madrid.
“Liverpool are a very competitive team and created a lot of problem for us at the start of the game and we have to think the same again, they will make us suffer in moments. It is not all over. I can’t say the tie is decided yet.”
