Two Real Madrid players suffer injury blow against Liverpool

Real Madrid duo David Alaba and Rodrygo were forced off with injuries as Real Madrid defeated Liverpool 5-2.

Alaba was replaced in the 27th minute of the match by Nacho, due to injury, while Rodrygo was also substituted for Dani Ceballos in the 81st minute for some concerns.

According to journalist Miguel Angel Diaz, Rodrygo had an ‘overload in his gluteus’, and is now a major doubt for Saturday’s Madrid derby with Atletico Madrid.

David Alaba who only just returned from a calf injury, may be out for longer.

According to Diaz, Alaba suffered a hamstring problem against Liverpool, and the Austria international will undergo tests to determine the extent of the issue.

It is being projected that Alaba will miss this weekend’s La Liga game with Atletico, and also the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final against Barcelona on March 2.
