Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez has revealed that he may have to leave the club at the end of the season.

With his contract set to wind up, Nacho isn’t so keen on extending it.

The 33-year-old has claimed that being benched for so long at the start of the season, hurt him so much, and even his recent run of games may not be enough to keep him.

As quoted by COPE, the veteran defender said: “I had a really bad time [at the beginning of the season] because I thought I deserved to play more. A lot of things went through my head..

“I still haven’t decided what I’ll do. It is a personal and family decision. I don’t want to send a message because my relationship with the club couldn’t be better, it’s incredible, but many things have crossed my mind. When I make a decision, the club will be the first to know.

“Even if I play every minute, this won’t influence my decision.”

Nacho has indeed been a good cover-up at right-back, but he doesn’t seem satisfied with a bit part role.
