Real Madrid came from 2-0 down to beat Liverpool 5-2 at Anfield on Tuesday night, and set a record in the process.
Real Madrid have now inflicted on Liverpool their heaviest home defeat in their European history.
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher was shocked at this.
“I’m not feeling too good, well done Madrid,” Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher said on CBS Sports.
“I’ve never seen a team come to Anfield and destroy Liverpool like that in Europe. Embarrassing, shambolic.
“Liverpool are eighth in the Premier League, they’ve just been battered 5-2 in the Champions League.
“I know it’s Real Madrid but these are the two teams who were in the final last year. It’s not acceptable what we’re watching this season. We keep looking for reasons and excuses, but no, it’s nowhere near good enough.
“What makes me laugh, and I’m not that horrible, Virgil van Dijk said I wouldn’t get in that back four about two months ago. I think I’d take his place at the moment.”
Hala Madrid, I’m very much happy with how we trashed Liverpool, it’s a game never to forget.
