Real Madrid were surprised to be on the losing side as Barcelona got the victory at the Santiago Bernabéu on Thursday night.
Despite bossing possession, the Los Blancos were beaten 1-0 by a lacklustre Barcelona side who could only muster 36 percent possession and 4 shots all game.
Speaking after the game, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti insisted that Barcelona didn’t deserve their victory.
Carlo Ancelotti said: “Barca didn’t deserve to win. This has been one of our best games in terms of high pressing.
“We have to play the same way at Camp Nou.”
Thibaut Courtois also echoed the sentiments of his manager: “We have dominated the game. They played rather defensively. We conceded an unlucky goal.
“They won without deserving it.”
Luka Modric believes that Madrid would come out victorious in the second leg: “We created enough to score a goal but we couldn’t do it while they scored a very unfortunate goal. We were better, I believe we can overturn the tie.”
